Should Spurs Really Cash In On Van Der Vaart? Really?

After the Daily Mail reported that Villas-Boas might be willing to part company with the 29 year old Dutch international, the question is, should Spurs sell Van Der Vaart?
There are the obvious faults which Van Der Vaart possesses such as his regular poor corners, slow pace and dodgy free kicks. But, no Tottenham fan would easily be able to say goodbye to the number 11 considering his commitment to the club when he plays for the club.
VDV always puts in 100% when he plays, shown by his long runs from defence to attack as he often controls the pace for the game. Even if it does take him 10 minutes to make this run his determination can not be faulted.
And according to the paper, AVB is willing to get rid of the attacking midfielder to rumoured interested clubs including former club Hamburg and Schalke. With Mrs Van Der Vaart presenting a programme in Germany, this move would favour his personal life and also his career too. With young Sigurdsson joining the side, it will be harder for Van Der Vaart to get a game understandably.
And at the age of 29, surely a £10 million offer is enough to say goodbye to him for good, especially considering that he was only bought for £8 million and new signing Gylfi, was bought for a similar price too.
Last season however, Van Der Vaart made a big impact for the Spurs team scoring 11 goals and assisting 7 in a total of 33 games which made him one of their top scorers. Finally, with Sigurdsson rumoured to be paid £70,000 per week, the same as Van Der Vaart, is this deal a straight swap for AVB?

gylfi isnt on 70,000 a week that would create so many problems in the squad with wanting more money he will be on 45,000 – 50,000 that is just a rumour from liverpool because they wanted a reason for not getting him when infact it was just we are a better club with better players and more likely to go places

When Van arrived we had Ferraris on the wing and a Wizard in the middle we had made our bow in Europe and we had finished 4th When he played he played has a second striker just behind Aby but he often played just in front of the midfield. This was is problem and he went worse after January he has a full and Happy social life that increases when we need him most and he also took Defoes place and potential goals from our team every week. So if Hudds returns to full fitness Van will be thanked and will always have a part of our history because he did score some crackers just not enough for a second striker.

VI agree entirely with the last two comments above. Van Der Vaart is a class player. We really moved up a gear when we bought him. When he shoots he is deadly accurate. I very much hope that we do not sell him. He is one of our best players.

They should cash in on bale, modric and van der vaart because they are all too good for the championship, which is where spurs will end up under AVB. I feel sorry for spurs fans as he will undo all Harry’s good work!!
