With Danny Graham rumoured to be on his way out of Swansea City this January transfer window, we at the Football Transfer Tavern were wondering just who his replacement would be and the Daily Mirror have provided an answer for us.
The paper claim that the high flying Swans are after Stoke City forward Kenwyne Jones. Graham of course is being kept out of the side by many people’s revelation of the season – Michu, and wishes to leave in search of first team football. With Reading and Sunderland interested in the player, Michael Laudrup has set his sights on the Trinidad and Tobago international as a potential replacement.
Jones had struggled to break into Pulis’ side until Peter Crouch fell victim to injury and the club could be willing to part with the player. For Swansea’s part, they are willing to let Graham leave but not until they find what they feel is an adequate replacement. It is believed Jones would be open to a move if first team football was a likely outcome.
Swansea are of course going from strength to strength, currently in the Capital One Cup semi-final while flying in the Premier League and also remain in the FA Cup meaning fixtures are piling up and a robust squad is needed.
