Suarez claims he is open to a move
Liverpool fans here at the Football Transfer Tavern may be laughing at Chelsea’s latest embarrassment but after a claim from Metro we feel that smile may soon be wiped off their face.
The club are battling to keep hold of their prized assets this summer and have already braced themselves for a fight to keep hold of Luis Suarez. The player has been in fantastic form this season and has been the highlight in what has otherwise been a dire season for the club.
It is widely acknowledged around Anfield that unless the club manage to get Champions League football the chances of keeping Suarez are set to diminish dramatically and as it stands this season, claiming a European berth looks like a distant hope.
Not only do the club have to worry about Bayern Munich and manager elect Pep Guardiola batting their eyes at their star forward but now it seems Suarez may not be ready to close the door on a move just yet. Suarez himself has claimed that: “If Bayern Munich makes an offer I would certainly be willing to listen and think about it. It doesn’t mean I will definitely leave, it just means that I will not automatically reject other clubs.”
For a player who has netted 26 times in 38 games in a very mediocre Liverpool side a move may be seen as the next step in furthering his career and in another twist, the forward’s agent is the brother of Pep Guardiola astonishingly.
