Swansea star given £30m billing
Swansea striker Michu has been the name on the lips of punters at the Football Transfer Tavern in recent weeks but any club wishing to purchase the in-form frontman have now been warned they will have to find £30 million to land his services.
The 26-year-old only arrived in the Premier League at the start of the season as a bargain £2 million signing from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano but is already regarded as one of the finest strikers in the league, hitting 10 goals in just 15 appearances, leaving him level at the top of the goalscoring charts.
With his reputation growing by the game, there has already been talk linking the striker with a transfer away from the Liberty Stadium but Swans manager Michael Laudrup has told any interested parties that they will have pay far more than the £15 million dished out by Liverpool for Joe Allen in the summer.
He told the Daily Telegraph: “I don’t want to let him go, sometimes the offer can be so big you have to accept but I really don’t think clubs are going to pay so much money for him.
“We have the example of what Liverpool paid for Joe Allen, if they have to pay double for Michu there are few clubs who could afford that.
“I don’t think anyone will come with that money so he will stay here.”
Can you see anyone forking out the £30m asking price or shall we assume he is at the Liberty Stadium for the long-term? Vote on our polls below.
