It’s quietening down in the Football Transfer Tavern after another busy days of transfer activity but before the bar closes a Bolton Wanderers supporter arrives to tell punters that Swansea City target Marcos Alonso has played down talk linking him away from the Reebok Stadium.

The left back is being tracked by Michael Laudrup who is seeking a new full back at the Liberty Stadium and has eyed up the 22-year-old former Real Madrid man whose contract expires at the end of the season.

However Alonso has told Goal.com¬†that he is happy with the Championship club: “I don’t read anything (about transfer speculation). My head is in Bolton and I just want to get back with Bolton to the Premier League,” said Alonso.

“As for Swansea, I have not spoken to anyone from the club, and they haven’t told me anything.

“I am happy now. The manager is doing a great job and, as I said, if we win two or three games, we will get our confidence back and the fans back.

“The rest of the season will be better and we will be in the fight to be in the Premier League.”

Alonso previously spent time with Laudrup’s son Andreas when both came through the Real Madrid youth academy and the Swansea boss is thought to be a fan of the defender.

Swansea have deployed impressive youngster Ben Davies at left back all season long after an injury to first team regular Neil Taylor and Dwight Tiendalli has also filled in there after joining the club on a contract until the end of the 2012/13 campaign.
