Top five potential managerial successors to Roberto Mancini
After the heroics at the end of last season and Sergio Aguero scoring that forever famous goal, Manchester City have failed to hit the heights this time around.
The champions are now 12 points behind bitter rivals Manchester United in the Premier League title race and it appears they have almost given up on chasing them down.
An embarrassing display saw them finish bottom of their Champions League group behind Ajax and Mancini’s future has been in doubt from then onwards.
The FA Cup is now City’s only real hope of a trophy this season and if they fail to lift that it could be time for Mancini to leave the big spending club.
Even the Italian’s transfer dealings have raised eyebrows. Signing the likes of Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell in the summer and then hardly playing them, as well as his public row with Mario Balotelli that has ended up with the striker moving to AC Milan all represent signs of an unhappy club.
The pressure may be starting to show for City and it could be the FA Cup or bust for Mancini who has surely spent too much money to go a season without any silverware.
Time will tell if the owners have patience with their man but a few names in the list below may turn their heads.
