It seems that the summer clear out at Tottenham is gathering some pace if Metro are to be believed as they claim that Scott Parker is set to leave White Hart Lane.
The England international knows QPR manager Harry Redknapp well and is preparing to link up with him once more after being told by Andre Villas-Boas that he had no future in his Spurs side next season.
After seeing Sandro return from injury, not to mention the big money capture of Paulinho and the imminent arrival of Etienne Capoue this summer, Parker was fully aware that he would struggle for a place in the first team, let alone regular football week in, week out.
QPR are of course trying to build up a team who can instantly return the top flight of English football at the first time of asking and despite seeing their top players return to the Premier League for loan spells next season, Hoops fans are confident that Redknapp can get them promoted.
The former Spurs manager was asked about the potential signing of Parker and noted: “We’re hopeful of getting Scotty signed soon. He’s a great lad and will be a really good signing for us.”
The fee for the 32-year-old would be in the region of £2 million and goes towards the funds that Daniel Levy hoped to recruit from flogging the so-called deadwood this summer and also helping to ease the financial burden on the club while they try and keep hold of star man Gareth Bale.
