Drama is not the word here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail admit that Gareth Bale could oficially become a Real Madrid player – today.
Bale as we all know has been the player involved in the saga of the summer.
Daniel Levy pushed as hard as he possibly could to firstly try and keep the Welshman at the club and after that failed, he pursued in obtaining the best price possible, and now it seems that Bale could well become a Real Madrid player – today.
The club shop at the Bernabeu have been selling Bale shirts for a couple of days now, and Florentino Perez is thought to have agreed a world breaking fee of around £86 million to land the player.
No other players are thought to be included in the deal, but Fabio Coentrao is on his way out of Los Blancos and a move to North London cannot be totally ruled out.
Given the famous Galacticos podium has been up for a week, clearly Real Madrid were under the impression Bale would be making a move soon – and before their next home game.
As one of our punters quips, Cristiano Ronaldo may be talented, but to play around a massive stage on their field may be too far even for him!
There had been thought to be a late surge in interest for Bale, with Manchester United playing it coy over a last gasp move, yet Bale was determined to push through a move to Carlo Ancelotti’s men and in news that will please both Marca and the Real Madrid faithful, the Welshman has managed to do that.
This move may well cause an exodus of players from Real Madrid and at least a couple of Premier League sides are monitoring the situation with interest. One side who have been busy bringing players in is Tottenham who have seen a huge amount of top class arrivals this summer.
