Tottenham fans are looking up from their pints here in the Football Transfer Tavern at the latest claim from the Daily Mirror who note that Andre Villas-Boas is willing to let Emmanuel Adebayor leave on loan.
As we all know, the emergency loan window opened on the 10th September and QPR boss Harry Redknapp has made no secret of the fact he would like to take the Togolese forward on loan for the season.
After exhausting any other option available to him, the forward only has the Football League left if he wants to play first team football – unless he wants to wait until January and try and push through another move then.
Wages could be an issue, but so keen is AVB to see Adebayor leave and move on from the club – at least for the time being – that he is desperate to come to some arrangement that would keep all parties happy.
AVB does not want the former Arsenal forward to train with the reserves or the youth squad and fears that he could be a disruptive presence.
As our landlord notes before wiping the bar down, QPR are not exactly short of money to chip in towards the wages demanded by the forward – but they are not the only club keen on Adebayor.
Wigan Athletic are also making advances for the player, but as our punters quip, we cannot really see him leaving London for Wigan – no matter how good the pies up that way are!
