Turkish giants hunt Newcastle star
Seemingly it is every day that Newcastle United striker Demba Ba is being linked with another club and today is no different with reports suggesting that Turkish giants Galatasaray are considering a move for the Senegal international in the January transfer window.
Neil Cameron from The Journal suggests that the Istanbul-based side, who currently head the Turkish Super League, want the 27-year-old prolific marksman to lead their attack for the rest of the season.
Cameron told punters that he had spoke to his Turkish sources who revealed that the club’s president Unal Aysal is ready to spend substantial money during the upcoming transfer window with Ba’s name top of the shopping list.
Ba is set to leave St. James’ Park after failing to agree a new deal with Alan Pardew and the Tyneside club ready to cash in on the former West Ham striker in January with rumours that £8 million may be offered for his services.
The Turkish side, who have qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, have ambitious aspirations to become a major player in Europe over the next few years and the surprise capture of Ba could be the start of this project.
