Week In Pictures – Chelsea star doesn’t miss, at last!

Misfiring Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is probably not having the best week of his life after missing a penalty in Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over Steaua Bucharest in the Europa League last week and as he was dropped from the Spain squad for this week’s World Cup qualifiers against Finland and France.

However he finally has something to celebrate today as he turns 29-years-old today and without any international participation he will certainly have enough free time to enjoy it. Happy Birthday Fernando from all in the Football Transfer Tavern.

Unfortunately the former Liverpool goal-shy man is often the  source of laughter and mockery by punters in the tavern and today is no different with a hilarious picture circulating around the bar with Chelsea fans left chuckling into their pints.

Torres has been unable to replicate his stunning Anfield form at Stamford Bridge after his massive £50 million move but despite the recent high-profile criticisms levelled at the former Atletico Madrid striker, he has actually still managed to score 17 times for the Blues this season.  But he has not found the net in the Premier League during 2013 despite numerous chances and this leads to the picture below which questions if Torres will actually miss his birthday.
