Wenger eyeing two new signings

Arsenal’s transfer activity always gets us talking here in the Football Transfer Tavern, and following their 2-2 draw with Swansea City in the FA Cup yesterday, Phil Cadden of the Daily Express reckons Arsene Wenger is ready to bring in two new players.

Yesterday’s draw meant a replay for the Gunners, as well as the prospect of five matches in 13 days – something Wenger feels his squad is too thin to cope with.

He has already allowed Marouane Chamakh and Johan Djourou to leave on loan this window to West Ham United and Hannover respectively, and feels he needs new faces to freshen things up.

Arsenal have been linked with the likes of David Villa of Barcelona as well as moves for midfielder James McCarthy of Wigan and Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

Wenger said after yesterday’s game: “If we find one or two players then the squad can cope. I like to have a balanced squad.”

Should Arsenal win their replay against Swansea City they face a potentially tricky trip to the AMEX Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round, with the Seagulls having already knocked out Premier League opposition in the form of Newcastle United this weekend just gone.

Will Wenger bring in at least two new faces this month? Vote in our polls below.

Wenger is not a serious or an ambitious manager. Can’t the fans see through his usual game. He’ll not buy until he has sold off his dead woods and the use the money to buy one cheap player and claim to be a frugal manager. Look at the bench of our competitors: they have quality players who are first team players in their right. Let Arsene be enjoying his lethargic and inept management. One day, the fans will revolt and boot him out since he can’t read the handwriting on the wall. If he is sensible, let him buy at least three players and replace sluggish Sagna. Arsene’s opportunistic haggling over wages is a disincentive to players. It’s time he realised the competition in the market for quality players.

Wenger is not a serious or an ambitious manager. Can’t the fans see through his usual game plan? He’ll not buy until he has sold off his dead woods and then use the money to buy one cheap player. He thinks he is the only sensible or frugal manager. Look at the bench of our competitors: they have quality players who are first team players in their own right. Let Arsene be enjoying his lethargic and inept management. One day, the fans will revolt and boot him out since he appears not to read the handwriting on the wall. An ambitious manager with the crowded games as he has would buy at least three players to strengthen his squad and replace the sluggish Sagna. Arsene doesn’t know that his opportunistic haggling over wages is a disincentive to players. It’s time he realised the competition in the market for quality players.

Wenger, please you need four or five players not one or two. You need two full backs( left & right), a defensive midfielder, a mature goalkeeper and additional striker. Wenger should know that injury prune players like diaby, Ramsey should not be rely upon. It is really unfortunate that he has been causing a lot of emotional stress to us the fans. It is disheartening for wenger to tell us that despite the inconsistency in his team, he is thinking of signing one or two players. Really sad

Wenger should get a place in the board and give his job to Pep. Rejuvenate the club a bit but nothing will happen until the Russian can get full access to the club. Its a waiting game but Arsenal will come good again.

Mr. wenger stop playing with our Emotions, we’ve already lose faith in our Arsenal team. It will only take a miracle if we win any Trophy this Season, with the result that we’re having. Please let this season be of a Joy to Us the Fans and as a Club by winning a Trophy, not only by qualifying for Champions league and been on the top four is all that we want, We want a Trophy. We’re tired of all this transfer issues, we’re in the 7/01/13 and we haven’t sign any player yet bt loaning out players, whiles other teams are buying players. As far as we still standout to be One of the Best teams in the World, we deserve same Glory.
