Wenger in the hunt for Loic Remy

Nice’s £14m rated striker, Frenchman Loic Remy, is said to be wanted by Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, in a summer move, according to The Sun.

His agent, Frederic Guerra, speaking in The Sun, confirmed this by saying “Arsenal are interested in Loic for next season.” Lyon are said to be the other club interested in Remy, after originally selling him for £7m in 2008.

Remy’s current club Nice are not enjoying a good season as they lie fourth from bottom in the table. However, with 21 starts behind him this season, Remy, who is 23-years-old, has contributed with seven goals.

With Arsenal already having a few Frenchmen in their squad, Remy has taken the opportunity to ask his France team-mates Abou Diaby and Bacary Sagna about what it would be like playing for the Gunners.

He said: “I often talk about Arsenal with Diaby and Sagna when I am with them in the French team. They tell me that when you are at Arsenal you want to stay there for your entire career.”

Remy looks a little like the former Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, and if he plays and excites the Arsenal fans as half as much as Henry did then the north London club could have a really top signing.
