montero.jpgThere is interesting news for supporters of Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Hull City inside the Football Transfer Tavern, with sources at Sky Sports confirming that Ecuador international winger Jefferson Montero hopes to finalise a move to the Premier League this summer.

The Premier League quartet are all chasing the 23-year-old, and all are willing to meet his £3.5 million buy out clause Mexican club Morelia have placed on his shoulders.

Montero came extremely close to joining Wigan Athletic in January, only for the deal to fall through at the last moment.

He has since been scouted by a host of English teams, many of whom were in attendance to witness his outstanding performance in the World Cup qualifying match against Argentina last week.

“Jefferson is ready to move to England,” Dan Chapman of Full Contact confirmed to Sky Sports.

“We can confirm a number of clubs are showing an interest, which is not surprising after his performance against Argentina last week.”

Swansea City, West Ham, West Brom and Premier League new boys Hull City are all preparing to battle it out for the winger, who has already played for several clubs, including La Liga outfits Villarreal, Levante and Real Betis.

Will any of the Premier League quartet pull off a move for Jefferson Montero this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.

West Ham United is the perfect team for Jeff, and it’s great investment for the club. I will follow up every game, and I feel West Ham will be disputing the championship of the Premier League.

As a season ticket holder at Upton Park who rarely misses a home game I can state with absolute certainty that Westham will not be challenging for the Premiership title this season. You must be taking lots of drugs to form such an opinion.
