Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern are waiting with abated breath after Sky Sports have reported that a £12 million bid has been launched for Scott Hogan.

The Hammers have had a difficult season so far at both ends of the pitch and this move would be to help strengthen their options up top.

Summer signing Simone Zaza has been nothing short of dreadful whilst Andy Carroll has once again missed much of the season with injury and has only just returned to the side.

Signing Hogan, then, would surely help out matters with him being one of the leading scorers in the Championship this season.

That also means, though, that Brentford, his current club, are going to be determined to keep hold of him and so it remains to be seen whether this bid is accepted or not.

Our landlord reckons if it isn’t, the Hammers would be wise to offer a little more money.

Whilst they’re in mid-table for now they could easily drop back towards the relegation zone and if it’s Hogan’s goals that keep them up then he’d surely be worth every penny.
