Why Ganso Should Join Tottenham …And Not Arsenal

Ganso, 22, has declared his interest in leaving Santos to move to the Premier League with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham both being interested according to The Mirror.

The vice-president of the Brazilian side stated ”Ganso doesn’t want to play for Santos anymore,” before addin,g “Ganso has lost his interest in Santos so we won’t try to keep him anymore.”

However, with a hefty transfer fee which is said to be close to his release clause of €45 million, this would easily intimidate Arsenal who are known for not spending heavily despite selling on their stars for tens of millions of pounds. Whilst this is one factor which makes Tottenham the front-runners to purchase the future star as they aim to reinvest the money they are about to receive by selling Luka Modric to Madrid, their upcoming stature might also appeal to the attacking midfielder.

But firstly, Tottenham are in desperate need to replace Luka Modric with a younger player of the same style of play. With Modric setting the tempo of the game with his accurate passing but also managing to point out the runs of his team-mates, Ganso might be an ideal replacement according to Mano Menezes.  The Brazil manager said, “Ganso is an organiser who reads the game for the team, he puts the pass through on goal, he sets the rhythm. This player is harder to find.”

Secondly as mentioned before, the upcoming status of Tottenham in the Premier League would be very appealing for any player. Finishing fourth in the Premier League twice in three seasons, this has shown how Spurs are not a “one-season” wonder.

However, even though they managed to miss out on Champions League this season, the fluke result would not detract talent from joining the side, especially considering that over £75 million is rumoured to be spent on strengthening the squad for next season; showing that Spurs mean business.

Additionally, with the opening of Tottenham’s new world-class training facility scheduled to open within the next two weeks, this would propel the training facilities at Spurs to be some of the best in the world, which will  match their planned devlopment of a new stadium too, which they hope will see them create extra revenue for transfers.

In contrast, with RVP and Walcott both declaring their interest to leave Arsenal, this makes it very unappealing for any incoming transfers as Wenger keeps losing his main stars, something which is especially infuriating for the fans. With several captains and stars being sold to Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona; the image of “feeder club” would not impress any footballer who would see their most successful team-mates be sold when the transfer window opens.

Finally, with new manager Villas-Boas wanting to establish a long-term squad at Tottenham, sharing the same “buliding for the future” ethos as chairman Daniel Levy, Ganso would fit right into this mould.

Plus the Brazilian would easily adjust to the quick tempo of Tottenham’s attacking and free flowing play. With the opportunity to play alongside Brazilian international Sandro in the midfield, the relationship between the two could see this midfielding pair create a huge impact in the Premier League.

However with a huge sum of money and an unproven talent in any European League being the main flaws of this purchase, this risk might be the second time Levy has taken the similar of gamble with many calling AVB unproven in the Premier League too.

Despite this all, with Levy’s hard bargaining skills and faith in his new manager, the Tottenham Chairman might be able to prove a point in the English Premier League this forthcoming season if these risks go to plan.

    Walcott never said he wanted to leave,he infact wants to stay.The only advantage of going to the Spuds is that he won’t have any real competition,plus he won’t have the pressure of playing for a big club.

        You’re absolutely right, no one wants to come to Arsenal anymore. Podolski? Nope didn’t come, Giroud? Nope, didn’t come either. Yes, Arsenal is a club in decline, imagine only 15 years in a row making the CL, must be a crap club. AVB is obviously a much better manager than Wenger, proven at Chelsea last year. No one at Tottenham wants out, not Modric, nope, definitely not Modric. Obviously Spurs will this year finish above Arsenal again, just like all the years before when Spurs was a club on the up and Arsenal in decline. Spur’s transfer policy is also much better, hire 2 geriatrics, Saha and Nelson, on a short term contract so they can leave on a free as opposed to selling them. Haha, not a selling club, clever!!! I’m in awe of Spurs, I really am, they are going places, triffic, tiptop club.

          Podolski and Giroud are hardly anything to rave about when you know your losing a 30 goal striker. Girmandi said they are meant to be direct replacements. You can’t replace a 30 goal striker with those players. More to the point Arsenal are really making an effort not to sign players for their other problem areas for 4 seasons in a row. DEFENCE!!!! Early signs seem to indicate lessons haven’t been learned and the decline will continue.

          Wait one second… Szczesny came in just last season and is already more highly rated at 22 than any of your crap keepers. Vermaelen, Koscielny, Mertesacker have all come in the last 3 seasons. All are better than any of your crap CB’s. Your best CB is an Arsenal reject. Sagna hardly needs replacing… Gibbs and Santos have both come in the last few seasons. So contrary to your joke of a comment, we have recently replaced four of our back 5. Maybe you should look at your own defense… You conceded what… FIVE against us? Just watch what Steve Bould and a year of gelling will do to the defense this season… Lets not forget the mental strength the group would have gained after spending the whole season on catch up last year. I mean how bad must it feel to be pipped at the post AGAIN? You poor buggers really need to understand you would KILL to be in our situation. I mean even your best striker is an Arsenal reject… Podolski eats him for dinner. As you will soon find out, Giroud will be even better after a season of bedding in. Anyway, I could go on for hours but it really is just too easy…

      What a typically deluded reply.

      Rather be a Spud than an Arse.

      Spud = Good, healthy,wholesome.

      Arse= Exudes shit.

      Not really, an upcoming status of a club is very attractive to foreign players, as shown by the signings of Sigurdsson, Vertonghen and Ade. And also Bale’s contract signing.

    Arsenal must be an enormous club judging by how the pressure has made them play so shit. Apart from Van Persie of course. He’s fantstic, absolutely critical to how you play…

    I do not want Walcott even for a cut price, he is a quality finisher with pace, we already have 3 of them.
    As for Ganso, if all I have heard is true, he will be able to shine wherever he goes, as long as he has good players around him.

    What about modric? You say that he should go to Spurs because Arsenal may be selling one of their biggest stars, that is not so different from the modric case. And a new training facility vs Arsenals huge new top stadium is a easy pick any day of the week. Yes, Spurs have done well the last sesons, but still have not finished in front of Arsenal in god knows how many years.

      and of course don’t be forgetting the fact that Tottenham’s new facility is already matched and probably bettered by Arsenal (like everything else) because we’ve had world-class facilities for years! Add into this the Emirates stadium which is at least 15,000 capacity bigger that WHL and more technologically advanced, the better league record, the better manager, european football guaranteed, and yup he’s obviously going to pick spurs isn’t he. The bloke isn’t that stupid.

    The biggest joke is to hear Spurs fans of all people talk about trophy-less Arsenal. The last timke they won the title there was only black and white TV, and the manager and most of their players are now dead. They obviously can’t read records or they would see that Arsenal are ahead of them by miles in championships and cups.

    Every season they brag about how they are going to finsih on top and every season they end up licking our arses.

        Martin, come off it mate. 4 years ago you won a cup, not an FA cup a league cup. Your so called “better players” managed to choke spectacularly last year in what was their best opportunity in many years to even just finish above us in the Premier league, never mind actually win the damn thing – see 1998, 2002,and for the cherry on top 2004. Champions league final? Not since 2006 alright, but then we cannot all be blessed with the spuds phenomenal record in the comp, you beat Inter Milan right, big whoop, on the way to the 06 final we hammered 5-1, in their own back yard. Forever in our shadow, FOYS
