Tottenham eye up £7m Spanish striker
It seems like every day in the Football Transfer Tavern that Fernando Llorente gets linked to another Premier League club and today is no different as Mirror Football‘s Matt Law declaring that Tottenham are looking to seal a bargain transfer for the Athletic Bilbao frontman in January.
After the striker confirmed he would not be signing a new contract at the La Liga club English newspapers have been linking the prolific striker with a move to a variety of Premier League clubs.
Today it is the turn of Tottenham Hotspur and Law confirms that Andre Villas-Boas is showing interest in signing the forward in January for a fee of around £7 million.
The Spanish international, who was Bilbao’s top scorer with 16 goals last season, has only started one game since August after telling the club he would not be signing a new contract but they have recently stated they will not sell him in January.
His strength, power and heading ability would seemingly make him a perfect fit for the Premier League.
The 27-year-old is almost certain to have the pick of Europe’s elite club sides when he finally makes the decision on which team to sign for in the summer and is most likely to be a club playing in the Champions League.
