Week In Pictures – Legendary Colombian chops his trademark hair
News has filtered into the Football Transfer Tavern this afternoon that one of the greatest and most eye catching haircuts in football history is no more. Yes that’s right. Curly afro Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama has decided to get rid of his mop of blonde hair.
The 51-year-old former playmaker, who is currently a coach at a football academy in Florida, announced his new boring style to his many Twitter followers, saying: “Just like football changes, I changed my look also.”
Valderrama – once voted in the top 10 living footballers of the 20th century by Pele, is loved the world over with his iconic barnet but he was also famous after featuring at three different World Cups for his country during his illustrious career, allowing his nimble feet to do the talking rather than just his hairstyle alone.
The sad news has left punters in shock as the flowing locks that left the world in awe are history. We are currently in mourning in the tavern. Here’s to the memories.
