Week In Pictures – The double standards of Manchester United
Sir Alex Ferguson was left distraught by Nani’s controversial sending off against Real Madrid on Tuesday evening that changed the game and saw the Spanish side progress into the last eight of the competition.
The decision to dismiss the Portuguese international was condemned by almost all (except Roy Keane!) and Ferguson was too furious to speak to the press after the match, saving himself from UEFA rammifications.
However footage of a similar incident involving Arsenal’s Emmanuel Eboue being sent off against United from 2008 is circulating in the Football Transfer Tavern. The former Gunners man was shown a straight red card for a high tackle on Patrice Evra which does appear to be almost identical to the one that saw Nani receiving an early bath.
Ferguson even said after the game that he believes it was a definite red card. He may have a different option on the Nani incident once he finally speaks about it.
Have a look at the hilarious picture below.

Where is the ball? How can you even compare it? Absolutely nonsense.

Nani stretched his leg to control the ball. Ebue, may be to control Evra’s balls.

Evra was standing still, Eboue knew he was there and still raised his foot. Arbeloa was still a few metres away when Nani went for the ball and was mid air by the time he realised Arbeloa was there. You write absolute drivvle and shud not be allowed near a computer.

Ferguson has always expected utd.to play with double standards by f.a officials & that extends to mind games at half time as they come off the pitch,as an example of double standards look to jonjo shelvey sending of when,at most both players given Yellow would have been apt, though jonjo made it worse whilst coming of,playing into fergies hands, deflecting from original offense,Touche’

I agree with SAF. In these pictures you see Evra and Eboue going to head the ball while Eboue is kicking Evra’s ball. In the other picture Nani is going to control the ball not knowing that Arbeola is runnig to get there in time to get him red carded. Hmmm, did you see the similarity now?

It has always been double standard for man utd and fergason. When the decision suits him, it is okay, when it does not, it is a sham.

Worse thing ive seen you cant compare and for even bringing this up shows you know nothing about football nani leg is bent his foot is coming down to control the ball eboue has his studs showing kicks evra when he looks like hes trying to head the ball clear intent to hurt evra
