# 11-goals-in-27-games striker lined up to replace Lukaku at Everton

**Are Everton fans getting sick of updates surrounding the Romelu Lukaku saga? Well, [TuttoMercatoWeb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esclusiva-tmw-chelsea-pressing-su-lukaku-e-l-everton-pensa-a-simeone-jr-949437) don’t** **care if they are, with the Italian outlet claiming that Genoa’s Giovanni Simeone is being lined up as a replacement for the wantaway ace.**

The name Simeone may well be familiar to Toffees supporters, with the 21-year-old forward the son of well-known Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, but he’s carving out a reputation in his own right in Italy.

Indeed, the young hitman only joined the Serie A side from River Plate last year but has already settled well in Europe, netting 11 goals in 27 games across all competitions, albeit he’s currently on a run of six without scoring.

And [TuttoMercatoWeb](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esclusiva-tmw-chelsea-pressing-su-lukaku-e-l-everton-pensa-a-simeone-jr-949437) claim that his development has alerted Everton, who could move for him if Lukaku, who has [reportedly](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4313316/Romelu-Lukaku-tells-Everton-NOT-sign-new-contract.html) told the club he will not sign a new contract with them, leaves.

[TMW](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esclusiva-tmw-chelsea-pressing-su-lukaku-e-l-everton-pensa-a-simeone-jr-949437) speculate that the Belgian could head to Chelsea if Diego Costa departs in a few months’ time, but regardless of where the 23-year-old ends up Ronald Koeman will need to add another striker if the 23-year-old heads away.

***Is Romelu Lukaku right to want to leave Everton?***
