# 4-2-3-1: Monk must field this strong Leeds XI to defeat Forest on Wednesday evening

**Still reeling from a frantic finale to their Yorkshire derby with Barnsley on Saturday, the Leeds United fans propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful their playoff challenge can get back on track against Nottingham Forest tomorrow night.**

Such is the level of optimism amongst the Whites in the bar these days, they’re entirely confident of getting three points against Forest at Elland Road as Garry Monk’s side keep the Premier League dream alive. Though the loss to the Tykes is of course damaging, Monk has brought a fresh energy to the Yorkshire giants.

Forest, despite the turmoil surrounding them, will be no pushovers mind. The Reds held off fellow strugglers Bristol City over the course of the weekend and look united in light of goings on off the pitch.

Still, if Monk field **THIS** strong 4-2-3-1 XI, Leeds should beat Forest on Wednesday.

Do you agree?

## GK: Rob Green

The former England ‘keeper hasn’t always been truly commanding between the sticks, though is certainly Monk’s best option in goal as things stand.

## RB: Lewie Coyle

Handed a starting berth of late and another member of their famed academy, 21-year-old Lewis Coyle should continue up and down the flanks.

## CB: Kyle Bartley

Has been a wonderful signing for the Whites since joining from Swansea on loan and has been a major part of their success this term. Crucial in keeping the backline calm.

## CB: Pontus Jansson

The importance Jansson’s return to the side cannot be understated, especially when they’re trying to get back to winning ways.

Wonderfully solid at the back, the super Swede should slot right back in.

## LB: Gaetano Berardi

Obviously, missing a player of Charlie Taylor’s ilk is a huge loss should the first choice left-back continue to miss out. While Berardi clearly isn’t of the same level, perhaps he can provide more balance by simply staying back.

## CM: Liam Bridcutt

The Leeds skipper keeps the ball ticking over in the middle of the park, sitting back when the Whites pour forward. Perhaps their most crucial player.

## CM: Ronaldo Vieira

The youngster has been a revelation in the first-team of late, pushing forward when Bridcutt sits back to pull the strings. Brings a wonderful energy to the engine room and is a palpable goal threat from deep.

## RM: Kemar Roofe

Wasted a great chance to level the scores in the Yorkshire derby, though is such a threat when cutting in from the right in support of the central striker.

Will test Forest’s defence.

## CAM: Pablo Hernadez

Picking up positions oh so hard to mark between enemy lines, Forest’s likely defensive set up is likely to make things difficult for the Spaniard. Still, all it takes is one moment of quality and the 31-year-old has that in abundance when he’s on the ball.

## LM: Souleymane Doukara

Pace and power in equal measure, the 25-year-old can help the side burst behind enemy lines if they need to. Not the most elegant to watch, though sure is effective at times.

## ST: Chris Wood

What a season he is having. 18 goals already, the Kiwi is a wonderful poacher and absolutely vital to Leeds’ chances tomorrow.
