# West Ham: Aaron Wan-Bissaka would be a ‘big signing’

**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) have been urged to make a ‘big signing’ by bringing in Manchester United right-back [Aaron Wan-Bissaka.](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/aaron-wan-bissaka/)**

### The Lowdown: Wan-Bissaka’s future in doubt?

Manchester United were [believed](https://theathletic.com/4051624/2023/01/03/january-transfer-window-news-mailbag/?redirected=1) to be considering selling Wan-Bissaka in the January transfer window, however he has since made a return to the first-team picture, appearing in [nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/leistungsdaten/spieler/477758) of the last ten [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) games.

Even so, the Red Devils are still willing to listen to offers for him this summer, with Football Insider [reporting](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-man-united-to-listen-to-aaron-wan-bissaka-offers-as-west-ham-plot-22m-deal/) that they value the right-back at around £22m, and a sale is deemed to be the most likely outcome.

### The Latest: O’Rourke’s comments

In an interview with [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/aaron-wan-bissaka/west-ham-transfer-news-premier-league-david-moyes/), journalist Pete O’Rourke praised the defender’s form since returning to the Man United starting XI, and urged the Hammers to make a move for him during the next window.

The journalist said: *“Wan-Bissaka,* *I think, since he got back in that Manchester United team in recent weeks has been excellent.*

*“And he’s starting to show the form that made Manchester United pay all that money from Crystal Palace as well. So, if they (West Ham) could land Wan-Bissaka in the summer, I think it’d be a big signing for them.”*

### The Verdict: Get it done?

[Hailed](https://twitter.com/LiamPaulCanning/status/1612932219882065921?s=20) as ‘excellent’ by members of the media, the Englishman has been very solid for Man United recently, demonstrating both his attacking and defensive abilities in the 3-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers, by creating [one](https://www.sofascore.com/manchester-united-wolverhampton/dsK) big chance and making four interceptions.

The 25-year-old’s ability to read the game is no doubt his best attribute, ranking in the 99th percentile for interceptions completed per 90 compared to other defenders over the past year, averaging [2.22](https://fbref.com/en/players/9e525177/Aaron-Wan-Bissaka).

Given that the full-back also ranks in the 93rd percentile for successful take-ons, it is clear that he is also a very good dribbler of the ball, and his ability to go past players makes him a threat down the other end of the pitch.

With Vladimir Coufal’s contract currently set to [expire](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/vladimir-coufal/profil/spieler/157672) in the summer, it is likely West Ham will need a new right-back next season, and Wan-Bissaka would be an excellent addition to David Moyes’ squad.
