# West Ham: Irons keen on summer move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

**[West Ham United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/) remain keen on signing Manchester United right-back [Aaron Wan-Bissaka](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/aaron-wan-bissaka/) this summer, according to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-man-united-to-listen-to-aaron-wan-bissaka-offers-as-west-ham-plot-22m-deal/).**

### The Lowdown: West Ham eyeing Wan-Bissaka

With the 25-year-old appearing just [once](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/leistungsdaten/spieler/477758) in the Red Devils’ opening 14 [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) games this season, [rumours](https://www.90min.com/posts/man-utd-set-to-allow-first-team-player-to-leave-in-january) had emerged that he would be allowed to leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

The right-back has since fought his way back into the team, enjoying a [regular run of starts](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/leistungsdaten/spieler/477758) since Christmas, but it appears as though he is still not in Erik ten Hag’s long-term plans. That could open the door for a move to West Ham, who were [named](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/west-ham-news/west-ham-aaron-wan-bissaka-transfer-rumours/) as potential suitors last month.

### The Latest: Moyes remains keen on Wan-Bissaka

As per [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-man-united-to-listen-to-aaron-wan-bissaka-offers-as-west-ham-plot-22m-deal/), Man United are willing to sell the former Crystal Palace defender this summer, despite his recent stint in the team at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils value the 25-year-old at £22m and [David Moyes](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/david-moyes/) remains keen on landing him, amid doubts about the futures of Ben Johnson and Vladimir Coufal at the London Stadium.

### The Verdict: Get it done?

Hailed as ‘[incredible](https://twitter.com/IndianRegista/status/1432004303342866442?s=20&t=zWxkj4CKcqr6aH-ZbFZfxQ)‘ by Guardian-featured reporter Arjun Pradeep, Wan-Bissaka is particularly adept at cutting out opposition attacks, ranking in the [98th](https://fbref.com/en/players/9e525177/Aaron-Wan-Bissaka) percentile for tackling and 99th percentile for interceptions per 90 compared to other right-backs over the course of the past year.

It is a surprise that Ten Hag is seemingly willing to allow the [£90k-per-week](https://fbref.com/en/players/9e525177/Aaron-Wan-Bissaka) earner to leave Manchester, as his recent form has demonstrated that he is good enough to succeed at Old Trafford. He made a vital [last-man tackle](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/aaron-wan-bissaka-only-player-who-can-make-that-matchsaving-tackle-says-wilfried-zaha) in the 1-1 draw at Palace last month, leading to [praise](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/12789828/wilfried-zaha-oh-my-god-its-aaron-wan-bissaka-any-other-player) from Wilfried Zaha.

Man United’s loss could be West Ham’s gain, as Wan-Bissaka would appear to be a fantastic prospective signing for the Irons, especially if Johnson and Coufal leave. An outlay of £22m for a player of the 25-year-old’s ability would seem to be an absolute bargain.
