# AC Milan see loan swoop for Man United’s expensive flop rejected

![Fellaini 3](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Fellaini-3-500x336.jpg)Manchester United fans have expressed their surprise at one report this morning, as they debate transfers in the Transfer Tavern over a glass of the last mulled wine we have in stock.

*[Football Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/77831/milan-want-fellaini-loan)*[cites a pair of reports in Italy that indicate AC Milan are extremely keen on Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini and have seen a loan swoop rejected by the Red Devils.](https://www.football-italia.net/77831/milan-want-fellaini-loan)

Belgian international Fellaini has struggled to impress at Old Trafford and finds himself out of Louis Van Gaal’s first-team plans, whilst he’s been surprisingly deployed as a makeshift forward at times during the season.

[Milan are said to be tracking Fellaini but the price is a huge stumbling block](https://www.football-italia.net/77831/milan-want-fellaini-loan), with the Italian side unable to afford his €25m asking price and annual wages of €3.5m.

Manchester United rejected the loan move swiftly when it was proposed, [though they are open to an exit for Fellaini but only if a permanent offer is made.](https://www.football-italia.net/77831/milan-want-fellaini-loan)
