# Wolves: Liam Keen confirms Adama Traore injury

**[Wolves](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) winger Adama Traore missed his side’s weekend 3-0 defeat to Manchester City with an adductor injury, reliable journalist Liam Keen has confirmed.**

### The Lowdown: Wolves beaten with ease

Bruno Lage’s side were soundly beaten by the reigning [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) champions on Saturday as their disappointing start to the season continues.

Jack Grealish’s goal inside the first minute was an early blow and Nathan Collins’ first-half red card effectively ended any hopes the home side had of getting a result.

One player who has troubled City in the past is Traore, scoring [three times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/bilanzdetails/spieler/204103/gegner/281) against Pep Guardiola’s side during the 2019/20 season, but he was unavailable at the weekend, missing out through injury.

### The Latest: Traore injury

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/LiamKeen_Star/status/1571199823302299648?s=20&t=52WsRaTuRVAfU1H5BNt6nw), Keen confirmed in a two-word response why the Spanish winger did not feature on Saturday.

When asked by a Wolves supporter why the 26-year-old wasn’t playing against Man City, the journalist simply replied: “Adductor injury”.

### The Verdict: Missed off the bench

It seems fairly clear that Lage doesn’t consider Traore indispensable – he wouldn’t have sent him [on loan to Barcelona](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/football/first-team/news/2465304/adama-traore-comes-to-fc-barcelona-on-loan) last season or handed him a mere [10 top-flight starts](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adama-traore/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/204103/plus/0/verein/543/trainer_id/61477) otherwise – but his presence is still missed from the substitutes’ bench.

The 26-year-old has been [clocked](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiXu_36x6D6AhW0olwKHSPzAO4QFnoECCgQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishmirror.ie%2Fsport%2Fsoccer%2Fsoccer-news%2Fpremier-league-fastest-player-traore-24834427&usg=AOvVaw3Uw_K3tqMtSTrW7m_sHnPn) as one of the fastest players in the league and his combination of pace, power and quick feet can make him a nightmare for opposition players, with Jurgen Klopp [describing](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jurgen-klopp-adama-traore-liverpool-20186548) him as ‘undefendable’ in the past.

The hope is that Traore is back available soon in order to bolster Wolves’ attacking options, with just [three goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wolverhampton-wanderers/spielplan/verein/543/saison_id/2022) in seven league games so far this season and already shorn of forwards [Raul Jimenez](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwj138SgyKD6AhVMZcAKHbZvAkkQFnoECFAQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fsoccer%2Fmexico-mex%2Fstory%2F4747901%2Fwolves-raul-jimenez-to-miss-mexico-friendlies-due-to-groin-injury&usg=AOvVaw3Lcv2QatPVwiXBVMZEK5He) and [Sasa Kalajdzic](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwjR77ynyKD6AhWFYsAKHQNNDo8QFnoECAQQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fsport%2Ffootball%2Farticle-11178819%2FWolves-confirm-new-signing-Sasa-Kalajdzic-suffered-anterior-cruciate-ligament-injury.html&usg=AOvVaw2CoYocCVzQnktGwuHmr5M0) through injuries of their own.
