# Wolves still interested in deal for Alex Scott

**[Wolverhampton Wanderers](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/wolves-news/) remain interested in bringing Bristol City midfielder Alex Scott to the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) this summer, according to reports.**

### The Lowdown: January talks held

The Robins starlet has worked his way up through the academy [ranks](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/transfers/spieler/855256) at Ashton Gate to become a regular feature of the first-team squad, where he’s been attracting plenty of interest.

The Telegraph’s [John Percy](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph) reported that the Old Gold were in [talks](https://twitter.com/JPercyTelegraph/status/1612915571913269280?s=20&t=5GQ9izRm-I3-nYEHNfVlJA) to sign the 19-year-old in January, but revealed that Nigel Pearson’s side were demanding a fee of £25m for his services.

Despite a deal failing to materialise before last month’s deadline, [Julen Lopetegui](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/julen-lopetegui/) and Co look poised to go again…

### The Latest: Wolves still eyeing Scott

According to [Football League World](https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/crystal-palace-and-west-ham-transfer-revelation-emerges-on-20m-rated-bristol-city-star-amid-wolves-interest/), Wolves are still ‘keeping an eye’ on Scott ahead of a potential move this summer.

[The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/21434340/west-ham-crystal-palace-alex-scott-transfer-bristol-city/) recently revealed that Bristol’s valuation has reduced to £20m, 20% less than what they were previously looking for.

West Ham and Crystal Palace are also credited with a strong interest by the same report, though they are unlikely to meet the required fee.

### The Verdict: Exciting prospect

Scott is still a teenager, but having already made [79](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/855256) senior appearances, he would be a hugely exciting prospect for Wolves to recruit.

The Guernsey-born talent has recorded [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdaten/spieler/855256) assists so far this season and has put an impressive [75](https://fbref.com/en/players/104d0bb8/Alex-Scott) crosses into the box, highlighting the threat he provides in the final third.

Bristol’s prodigy, however, can also play his part defensively as he’s currently averaging [2.4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/410998/Show/Alex-Scott) tackles per second-tier game.

Scott has been [likened](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10307925/Meet-12-young-players-set-break-2022-including-Guernsey-Grealish.html) to Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, and with his ability to operate in [five](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-scott/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/855256) different positions, would make a promising signing for Lopetegui.
