# Tottenham Hotspur: Allan Saint-Maximin drops transfer hint over ‘dream’ move next season

**Speaking on his future at Newcastle United (via [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-united-allan-saint-maximin-22824846.amp?__twitter_impression=true)), Tottenham summer transfer target Allan Saint-Maximin has dropped a hint he could leave St James’ Park if the Magpies fail to achieve their targets.**

According to a piece by the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8489789/Paris-Saint-Germain-plot-Newcastle-United-winger-Allan-Saint-Maximin.html), Spurs ‘expressed an interest’ back in June, and the Frenchman has now come out and dropped a potential hint he could be available for a move at the end of this season.

### Saint-Maximin shines

Saint-Maximin has been a [standout star for the Magpies](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-fans-urge-club-to-keep-hold-of-allan-saint-maximin-following-club-instagram-post/) ever since his [£16.m move from Nice](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49211377) in the summer of 2019, attracting interest from a number of top clubs as well as Tottenham.

Indeed, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy was reportedly eyeing a summer swoop, and the 23-year-old has aspirations of playing in Europe as part of a [‘dream’](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-united-allan-saint-maximin-22824846.amp?__twitter_impression=true) move – something that Spurs could potentially offer.

The Frenchman also [opened up](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle-united-allan-saint-maximin-22824846.amp?__twitter_impression=true) over his difficulty in getting picked for the French national team, going on to hint that playing for a top six side could make his life easier in that regard.

### Transfer Tavern take

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce certainly rates the winger, describing him as a player with ‘[scary ability](https://sportmob.com/en/news/embed/376553-steve-bruce-lauds-scary-newcastle-winger-allan-saint-maximin)‘, and Tottenham could be contenders for his signature at the end of this season if Newcastle fall below par.

Bruce also lauded ‘[quite the find](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/18554884.steve-bruce-full-praise-allan-saint-maximin/)‘, a notion that’s easy to understand given Saint-Maximin averaged a highly impressive 4.7 completed dribbles per game in his debut Premier League season ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/135891/History/Allan-Saint-Maximin)).

Whether or not Levy takes the plunge next summer, or even in January, remains to be seen, but the Frenchman could be quite the Spurs coup.
