# Manchester United: Ansu Fati interest on the table

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/)’s interest in Barcelona forward [Ansu Fati](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/ansu-fati/) is believed to be on the table ahead of the summer.**

### The Lowdown: Fati profiled

The 20-year-old already has [80](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ansu-fati/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/466810) first-team appearances to his name at the Nou Camp. [Primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ansu-fati/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/466810) a left-winger, the Spain international can actually play anywhere across the front three and has a whopping [€1bn release clause](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/manchester-united-interesa-futuro-ansu-82435402) (£898m) in his current deal.

Sponsored by [Nike](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ansu-fati/profil/spieler/466810), the Spain international has contributed to [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ansu-fati/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/466810) La Liga goals in [762](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ansu-fati/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/466810) minutes of action this season and appears to be on the radar at Old Trafford.

### The Latest: Man United interested in Fati

Spanish outlet [Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/manchester-united-interesa-futuro-ansu-82435402) provided an update on United and Fati in the last 48 hours, claiming that interest from the Red Devils is on the table.

The player’s agent Jorge Mendes has a good relationship with Old Trafford chiefs and is aware of interest from Manchester ahead of the summer.

### The Verdict: Look elsewhere?

Marcus Rashford appears to be in the form of his life under [Erik ten Hag](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/erik-ten-hag/), contributing to [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdaten/spieler/258923) goals in [19](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdaten/spieler/258923) games as a left winger this season.

Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Alejandro Garnacho are alternative left-sided [options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/kader/verein/985) for Ten Hag, so perhaps a big-money move for Fati isn’t required at this moment in time.

An out-and-out star striker could be more beneficial, especially as Anthony Martial has had a [number of injury issues](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877) this season and there is [no option](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1613808567701626881) to make Wout Weghorst’s loan move permanent in the summer.
