**Jamie Vardy’s snub may be a bitter pill to swallow, but the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are quickly turning their attentions to more reported targets in their quest for a new forward.**

Recent reports had suggested the Gunners had turned their attentions to Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in an attempt to secure a new marksman, after the Belgian enjoyed a prolific season on Merseyside.

The 23-year old has also been strongly [linked](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/romelu-lukaku-to-chelsea-blues-confident-of-signing-65m-striker-as-he-favours-stamford-bridge-return-a3254386.html) with a move to Chelsea, costing upwards of [£65m](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/romelu-lukaku-to-chelsea-blues-confident-of-signing-65m-striker-as-he-favours-stamford-bridge-return-a3254386.html), while Juventus are also [said](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/678963/Everton-Juventus-Romelu-Lukaku-Ronald-Koeman-Yarmolenko-transfer-news) to be keen.

However, Emanuele Giulianelli [claims](https://twitter.com/EmaGiulianelli/status/747143484038127616) that while the North London giants are keen on the former Chelsea forward, they may be put off by the whopping £50m price tag.

> Arsenal aren't too optimistic after hearing they'd have to pay £50m for Lukaku to Everton.

Lukaku is [understood](https://twitter.com/EmaGiulianelli/status/747143698895503361) to be open to the idea of moving to the Emirates, though the Toffees are in no need to sell, having been taken over by wealthy Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri.

> Informal contact was made yesterday between Arsenal and Everton but in my opinion the deal won't progress despite Lukaku wanting the move

**Is Lukaku really worth £50m? Would he even fit in at Arsenal?**
