# Arsenal: Brazil ace interested in Gunners switch

**[The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9517473/arsenal-dani-alves-free-transfer/) are reporting that Brazilian full-back Dani Alves would be interested in joining Arsenal this summer following his release from Paris Saint-Germain.**

Alves is reportedly open to taking a pay cut to become a Gunner in the coming weeks, with the exclusive report claiming that an Emirates move would appeal most to the defender – with Manchester City and Spurs also said to be interested.

A Gunners move for Alves would see the Brazilian link up once again with Unai Emery, who was his manager at [PSG](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/unai-emery/stationen/trainer/5075) before departing to take over from Arsene Wenger last year.

However, The Sun also note of the right-back’s wages providing a potential obstacle for Arsenal in terms of financing a switch – despite Alves being a [free agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-alves/transfers/spieler/15951) and The Gunners seeing players such as [Aaron Ramsey](https://www.juventus.com/en/news/news/2019/aaron-ramsey-signs-for-juventus.php) and [Danny Welbeck](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/11712733/danny-welbeck-to-leave-arsenal-on-free-transfer-unai-emery-confirms) leave at the end of last season to drastically cut their [wage bill](https://www.spotrac.com/epl/arsenal-f.c/payroll/2018/).

The former Barcelona player is thought to be demanding a wage of £200,000 a week to join Arsenal, per [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9517473/arsenal-dani-alves-free-transfer/).

At 36, Dani Alves may be approaching the end of his career, but his [Player of the Tournament](https://www.thestatesman.com/sports/copa-america-2019-dani-alves-adjudged-player-tournament-1502775166.html) displays at the Copa America for Brazil suggest that he could challenge for a place in the Arsenal team, especially with Hector Bellerin still on the [comeback trail](https://www.arsenal.com/news/team-news) from injury and previous backup [Stephan Lichtsteiner](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48502300) ending his Gunners career after just one season.

Should 24-year-old Bellerin reclaim his starting place upon his return to fitness, Alves could still be a viable option for Arsenal’s Europa League campaign, which could provide an opportunity to add yet [another honour](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-alves/erfolge/spieler/15951) to his long list of accolades.

And given he has previously stated a desire to play in the Premier League [one day](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9517473/arsenal-dani-alves-free-transfer/), the [current lack of options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-arsenal/kadernachposition/verein/11) in his position at Arsenal may well make the Emirates Stadium a fine destination for Alves to make his name in England.
