# Arsenal: Dani Ceballos wants to make Gunners move permanent

**Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos has come for quite a bit of [praise](https://metro.co.uk/2020/06/28/robin-van-persie-hails-clever-dani-ceballos-midfielder-scores-arsenals-winner-sheffield-united-12914129/) since football returned last month but he is due to return to Real Madrid [soon](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-ceballos/profil/spieler/319745), with the Gunners only having [three fixtures](https://www.arsenal.com/fixtures) left this season.**

There has been some discussion suggesting that Mikel Arteta wants to see if he can [sign](https://www.goal.com/en/news/arteta-wants-ceballos-and-hints-at-arsenal-swap-deals/1jyljimlv9od31s4gmjkij88vf) him permanently before next season, and recent reports suggest that Ceballos would favour the move.

According to [El Confidencial,](https://www.elconfidencial.com/deportes/futbol/2020-07-19/ceballos-arsenal-real-madrid-arteta-zidane-florentino-perez_2686156/) the [23-year-old](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-ceballos/profil/spieler/319745) midfielder wants to try and convince Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to let him move to North London on a permanent deal. The La Liga club are keen to sell Ceballos to raise funds for their own planned additions, but Arsenal would apparently prefer to loan him again as they might struggle to match Real Madrid’s asking price.

The midfielder is valued at £28.8m on [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-ceballos/profil/spieler/319745) and his performances this season warrant such a fee. Ceballos has [started 20 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-ceballos/leistungsdaten/spieler/319745) for the Gunners whilst coming off from the bench [14 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dani-ceballos/leistungsdaten/spieler/319745), which highlights that Mikel Arteta sees him as an important player.

Despite the fact he has only managed two goals and two assists for the north London side this season, per [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/144890/Show/Dani-Ceballos), his in-game stats emphasise his importance even more. Defensively in the Premier League this campaign, he has managed on average 1.9 tackles and 1.3 interceptions a game, whilst offensively he manages 1.1 key passes and 1.1 successful dribbles per game, via [WhoScored.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/144890/Show/Dani-Ceballos)

Ceballos’ statistics show that he contributes at both ends of the pitch, and a player like this is so useful to have in the squad at Arsenal.

The fact that he wants to stay and that Arteta knows his qualities makes a deal seem like a no-brainer; it is just dependent on whether the club can afford to sign him. If Los Galacticos will accept another loan move, then the Gunners should definitely try and complete that deal as soon as possible.
