# Arsenal: Fans approve potential transfer of Thomas Lemar after reports over interest

**Arsenal fans were giving their approval over a move for attacker Thomas Lemar after the Gunners were linked with the player.**

[According to Marca](https://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish-football/2020/01/02/5e0db5c122601d39448b45a3.html), Atletico Madrid have asked super-agent Jorge Mendes to broker a deal with the Gunners for the Frenchman.

The north London outfit were in for the player in the summer of 2017, however, they failed to complete a deal despite having agreed a fee worth a reported £92m [(via Evening Standard)](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/thomas-lemar-rejects-92m-arsenal-transfer-due-to-lack-of-champions-league-football-a3624356.html).

However, the player then completed a move to the Wanda Metropolitano outfit in the summer of 2018, however, has failed with the Spanish club.

Lemar has scored just [three goals and assisted five in over 60 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thomas-lemar/leistungsdaten/spieler/205562) across all competitions, just one less than what [Bukayo Saka](https://www.transfermarkt.com/bukayo-saka/leistungsdaten/spieler/433177) has managed this campaign.

Fans were loving reports of a move for Lemar as they took to Twitter to give their approval for any potential move for the 24-year-old.
