# Arsenal: Fans are voting for Gabriel Martinelli as the club’s POTM for October

**Arsenal fans have been voting for Gabriel Martinelli as the club’s player of the month after his goal-scoring form in October.**

The youngster enjoyed a stellar month in October, scoring five goals in just three starts for the north London giants [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-martinelli/leistungsdaten/spieler/655488).

However, it was his performance in Wednesday evening’s Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool which has turned all eyes on Martinelli.

He scored a brace which took his tally up to seven goals in his first 400 minutes in Europe, a feat only matched by legendary figure Ronaldo Nazario when compared to fellow Brazilians [(via HITC)](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/11/01/arsenals-gabriel-martinelli-tops-an-elite-list-of-brazilian-lege/).

His performance away at Anfield earned him praise from Jurgen Klopp, who hailed him as the ‘talent of the century’ [(via Liverpool)](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/371358-jurgen-klopp-liverpool-arsenal-ticket-reaction).

Fans were adamant that Martinelli deserves to be crowned the club’s player of the month as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

> Martinelli as our league form has been horrendous. Happy for Pépé to win too.

> I went with Martinelli. Kid works so hard off the ball and obviously a keen eye for goal. And frankly I’ve taken more joy out of the cups than our League performances.
