# Arsenal fans cannot believe Xhaka’s stupidity yesterday

**Arsenal fans may have been in an amazing position to finish inside the top four a few weeks back, but they’ve well and truly bottled it in spectacular fashion. Losses to Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester saw the Gunners ship nine goals, and just when they couldn’t afford any more slip-ups they drew 1-1 to Brighton as Granit Xhaka flopped.**

If you haven’t watched Brighton play a game of Premier League football recently the best way to sum it up is to say that attacking isn’t always on the forefront of their thinking. The Seagulls travelled to The Emirates and barely ventured forwards. However, at 1-0 down on one of their rare breakaways, Granit Xhaka ran across Solly March and took his legs out from behind him, giving away a clear penalty.

The Swiss midfielder’s petulance was pathetic and the fans were left wondering what on earth was going through his head as he gave away the penalty that levelled up the game. Glenn Murray doesn’t miss penalties either and he stepped up to dispatch from 12-yards and compound the Gunners to a miserable one point from their last available 12, killing their top four chances and ensuring that Xhaka got slaughtered by his own fans.

The Gunners were fuming with Xhaka and will be desperate for him to show improvement next season as the silly costly errors are making him a liability.
