# Arsenal: Fans can’t believe club let Aaron Ramsey leave after sensational brace

**Arsenal fans were left in despair that the club allowed Aaron Ramsey to leave on a free transfer after his heroics in Wales’ European Championship qualifier.**

The midfielder scored a brace as Wales saw off Hungary 2-0 to reach their second-consecutive European Championship.

Ramsey swapped north London for Juventus in the summer after the club opted against renewing his contract beyond the 2018/2019 season. It was thought that manager Unai Emery didn’t see the Welshman as part of his plans moving forward as he believed he was a similar player to Mesut Ozil [(via The Sun)](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/7891641/arsenal-aaron-ramsey-unai-emery-contract/).
