# Arsenal: Fans rejoice after reports over Mikel Arteta’s summer transfer plans emerge

**Arsenal fans have been celebrating after a report by the Daily Mail revealed what Mikel Arteta is planning for the summer transfer window.**

[According to the publication](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7973189/Mesut-Ozil-Alexandre-Lacazette-set-follow-Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang-Arsenal-exit-door.html), the Spaniard is targeting a box-to-box midfielder, a central defender and a creative central midfielder. The club have already been linked with a few players prior to the opening of the window with Feyenoord attacker [Orkun Kokcu](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7966199/Arsenal-hope-steal-march-rivals-15m-rated-Feyenoord-starlet-Orkun-Kokcu.html) and Leicester City playmaker [James Maddison](https://www.footballinsider247.com/arteta-wants-maddison-to-be-marquee-arsenal-summer-signing/) both reportedly targets for the side.

One supporter was clearly a fan of the report over the 37-year-old’s demands, describing them as ‘glorious’.

The report ties in nicely with claims from [The Sun’s Mark Irwin](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/10902022/aubameyang-lacazette-arsenal-ozil-arteta/) that the former Manchester City assistant coach could get rid of the likes of Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal’s top scorer seems to be attracting interest from Barcelona with Eric Abidal claiming he is a target for the La Liga outfit [(Sport via Daily Mail)](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7969299/Eric-Abidal-admits-Barcelona-Arsenal-captain-Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang.html). The news over Arteta’s plans has excited fans as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful:

> I like that they are trying to identify there targets early and do deals early. It will be good for us and especially for the players
