# Arsenal: Fans displeased with move for former player Olivier Giroud

**Arsenal fans have been voicing their displeasure at a potential move back to the Emirates Stadium for former player Olivier Giroud.**

The news comes after a transfer update by journalist Ian McGarry [(via The Express)](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1222392/Arsenal-transfer-news-Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang-Olivier-Giroud-return-Chelsea), who claimed that the Frenchman would be open to a move back to the club if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was to leave.

Giroud left the club back in 2017 in the January transfer window for London rivals Chelsea for £18m [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42890254).

He went on to feature and score in the Europa League final as the Blues smashed his former club 4-1 to lift the trophy in Baku earlier this year.

His reaction of thanking Arsenal in a video clip was lambasted by the north London faithful, who displayed ill-feelings towards him [(via The Sun)](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/furious-arsenal-fans-react-olivier-16222231).

Fans were feeling less than pleased with the news that Giroud would be open to a move as they took to Twitter to react.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
