# Arsenal: Fans excited after being linked with move for Juventus defender Merih Demiral

**Arsenal fans are jumping for joy after the club were linked with a move for Juventus defender Merih Demiral.**

[According to Turkish Football](https://turkish-football.com/arsenal-eye-move-for-juventus-defender-merih-demiral-serie-a-giants-want-over-e30m/), the Gunners have made contact with representatives of the Turkey international, with Unai Emery’s side having already registered their interest in the player before he made the move to [Turin](https://turkish-football.com/arsenal-eye-move-for-juventus-defender-merih-demiral-serie-a-giants-want-over-e30m/) in last summer’s transfer window.

It is being reported by the Turkish publication that despite not wanting to sell the player, Juventus may consider offers of around [€30m](https://turkish-football.com/arsenal-eye-move-for-juventus-defender-merih-demiral-serie-a-giants-want-over-e30m/) (roughly £25.9m).

The 6 foot 3 Demiral has been on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri’s side this season, making just a solitary appearance in a league game for the Italian club [(via Transfermarkt)](https://turkish-football.com/arsenal-eye-move-for-juventus-defender-merih-demiral-serie-a-giants-want-over-e30m/).

Arsenal have a shocking defensive record this season, having [conceded 15 goals in 11 Premier League games](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/clubs/goals_conceded?se=274) despite buying David Luiz from Chelsea [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49275919).

Fans are approving the reports of a move for Demiral as they took to Twitter to react.

> Merih Demiral is probably the only defender that excites me as much as Upamecano. £28m is a steal of the highest order for the extremely talented 21-year old. He can play LCB as well. If we can’t sign Upa, then Demiral is a fantastic option to partner Saliba. [https://t.co/JEctCKm7XX](https://t.co/JEctCKm7XX)
