Arsenal reportedly struck a deal with [French club Lille](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11670/11771524/arsenal-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-nicolas-pepe-from-lille) to sign the right-winger for an astronomical £72m last week. The [24-year-old arrived in London](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9614721/nicolas-pepe-london-arsenal-medical-transfer-lille/) on Tuesday for a medical and to sign his contract.

Pepe enjoyed a standout season with Lille last season, finishing the second top scorer and joint-highest creator in Ligue 1, with [22 goals](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/french-ligue-one/top-scorers) and [11 assists](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/french-ligue-one/top-scorers) respectively.

His arrival will be Arsenal’s fourth of this summer’s transfer window after the signings of Gabriel Martinelli, Dani Ceballos and William Saliba.

The excitement is building for the Gooners and with just over a week left in the window, it seems their business isn’t done, with [BBC journalist David Ornstein](https://arseblog.news/2019/07/ornstein-arsenal-in-talks-over-potential-mustafi-exit/) alluding to yet more business.

Here is a selection of tweets from Arsenal fans following the emergence of Pepe in a jersey:
