# Arsenal: Fans left bemused by statistic from West Ham United victory

**Arsenal fans have been left bemused after a statistic emerged from their victory over West Ham United.**

The win over the Hammers was the first time in over eight years the Gunners had come from behind, away from home at half-time, to win a game [(via Squawka)](https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/1204158313535016960).

Victory away to [Chelsea](https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/1204158313535016960) during the 2011/2012 season, inspired by a Robin van Persie hat-trick, was the last time the north London giants had achieved such a feat, coming back from 2-1 down at the break to win 5-3.

Second-half goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ensured Freddie Ljungberg’s side won their first game in over two months.

The win left the side just seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea ahead of the side’s game at home to Manchester City this Sunday.

Fans were left completely confused after the statistic emerged as they took to Twitter to react following the comeback victory.

Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

> Tonight was the first time since 2011 that we came from behind at half time to win a game! Let that sink in. Shows you how poor we have been this decade. [#Arsenal](https://twitter.com/hashtag/Arsenal?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

> At HT you couldn’t be faulted for thinking another loss was on the cards. First time Arsenal have come back from a half-time losing position to win a PL away game since October 2011 (5-3 v Chelsea). Monkey off the back…
