# Arsenal: Fans love Romano’s update on Saliba

**Reliable reporter [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1445398821341704196) has claimed that Arsenal are ‘really happy’ with defender William Saliba.**

And a number of Gunners fans have been reacting to the news on social media.

The 20-year-old, who cost the club [£27m](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/transfers/spieler/495666) back in 2019, joined Marseille on [loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/transfers/spieler/495666) over the summer. He’s already spent time on [loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/transfers/spieler/495666) at Saint-Etienne and OGC Nice but is now with Les Phocéens, where he has been a regular.

The Frenchman has started [nine](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) of [ten](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) fixtures in all competitions and has even made his [France U21 debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/william-saliba/leistungsdaten/spieler/495666) against Macedonia last month.

[Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1445398821341704196) took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, claiming the Gunners are following Saliba closely and recently informed the defender that they trust him 100 per cent for the future.

Saliba is expected to return to the Emirates next summer ahead of a possible breakthrough campaign in north London.
