# Arsenal: Fans praise Matteo Guendouzi’s performance against Brighton

**Arsenal may have [gone down to defeat](https://www.skysports.com/football/brighton-vs-arsenal/report/408273) away to Brighton this afternoon but plenty of Gunners fans were pleased with the performance of Matteo Guendouzi at the Amex Stadium.**

The French midfielder was unable to prevent his team from slipping to a second loss in four days but there were plenty of positives for him to take from Arsenal’s latest setback. The 21-year-old completed 39 of his 42 passes, giving him a 93% accuracy rate, while he also made two interceptions, two clearances and one block, along with winning four duels in total (as per [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/arsenal-brighton-and-hove-albion/FsR)).

Several reporters also praised Guendouzi’s contribution to the Gunners’ cause this afternoon. [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/arsenal-1-2-brighton-player-22225552)‘s Sam Meade wrote that he “did his job well in the middle of the park”, while [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1298740/Arsenal-player-ratings-Brighton-Leno-Aubameyang-Lacazette-Arteta-Premier-League) writer Uche Amako said that the youngster “produced a disciplined display as he tried to dictate the tempo”. The Frenchman was also [involved in a tussle](https://www.skysports.com/football/brighton-vs-arsenal/live/408273) with some Brighton players at the full-time whistle, with tempers flaring following [Neal Maupay’s clash with Bernd Leno](https://www.skysports.com/football/brighton-vs-arsenal/report/408273) in the first half.

These Arsenal fans on Twitter lauded Guendouzi’s display against the Seagulls:
