# Arsenal: Fans profess love for David Luiz after his comments

**Arsenal fans have been professing their love for David Luiz after his comments on the players under new manager Mikel Arteta.**

The Brazilian centre-back started off by praising the former Manchester City man by claiming he can ‘improve every player’ [(BT Sport via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50969064).

He then went on to have, what appeared to be, a dig at former manager Unai Emery regarding the happiness and fitness of the first-team squad.

Luiz talked about how the players had to be [‘honest’ and ‘humble](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50969064)‘ about their fitness as he claimed they are not ready ‘physically’.

The former Chelsea man then went on to say that results are different [when you are happy](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50969064).

Under Emery, the Gunners seemed to be in a miserable mood with reports of a number of issues within the camp at the north London club [(via The Telegraph)](https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBD_en-GBGB852GB852&sxsrf=ACYBGNT9cRXva6MgIpobBhDABIbBqJkLpw%3A1577961825718&ei=YckNXoTJK5PnxgP4lKLoDw&q=Arsenal+emery+players+relationship&oq=Arsenal+emery+players+relationship&gs_l=psy-ab.3..33i160.2983.5886..6287...0.0..0.137.2039.20j3......0....1..gws-wiz.......0j0i22i30j0i333j33i22i29i30j33i21.AAJoJkGKsro&ved=0ahUKEwjE_dzw3eTmAhWTs3EKHXiKCP0Q4dUDCAs&uact=5).

Fans were professing their love for the 32-year-old as they took to Twitter to react to his comments following the victory last night.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful including a reaction from one very special fan:

> Great to hear such brutally honest talk from ⁦[@DavidLuiz\_4](https://twitter.com/DavidLuiz_4?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)⁩ (who was excellent today) after the game. And to hear how inspired & energised the players are by Arteta as a coach.\

> Very truthful and honest assessment of the squad. Fitness is a massive issue and it certainly showed against Chelsea and second half of tonight’s game. It’ll improve with games and Artetas philosophy
