# Arsenal: Fans rave as club makes reported Thomas Partey bid

**Plenty of Arsenal fans are raving at reports that the north London club have bid 50 million euros, which equates to around £43 million, for Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey, according to [Corriere dello Sport](https://test.corrieredellosport.it/calcio/calcio-mercato/).**

The outlet claims that the potential move is ‘one step away’ as the Spanish giants and the player himself will have to decide where his future lies. The figure is his reported release clause, which has been confirmed by his [agent](https://www.passioneinter.com/esclusive/esclusiva-lagente-di-thomas-apre-allinter-e-un-top-club-vedremo-ce-una-clausola/).

Partey has previously told [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/atletico-madrid/story/3562429/thomas-partey-opens-door-to-premier-league-move?device=featurephone) that he would be like to play in the top flight after describing it as a good and very competitive league with some of the best players in the world in his opinion.

The 26-year old’s stats so far in La Liga this season are relatively impressive for a defensively minded midfield player. Partey wins 6.6 duels per match, and also averages 2.1 tackles, 1.4 interceptions and 1.2 clearances, as per [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/thomas-partey/316148).

These Gooners are raving at the potential incoming of the Ghanaian international and shared their thoughts on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/AFTVMedia/status/1250066088731254784):

> Nice midfield bully. If he comes then either Lucas Torreira or Granit Xhaka would have to leave.
