# Arsenal: Fans react as Cesc Fabregas reveals that Gabriel Martinelli is the player he’d like to play with now

**Lots of Arsenal fans have reacted to a claim from former central midfield player and captain Cesc Fabregas that if he had to choose one player from the current squad to play with now, he would pick Gabriel Martinelli.**

The Spanish international revealed his opinion on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/cesc4official/status/1252226399068467201) after he was asked by a supporter, which prompted a lot of reaction.

Indeed, Martinelli has impressed so far in his debut season with the north London club, scoring 10 goals and providing a further four assists in 26 total appearances across all competitions, according to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-martinelli/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/655488/plus/0?saison=2019&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=). Some of the 18-year old’s performances helped earn him his first cap for his native country Brazil at under-23 level, which is particularly impressive considering his age.

Martinelli was signed in the summer transfer window and apparently [models](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48843718) his game around Cristiano Ronaldo. They are pretty big boots to fill but the young Brazilian has plenty of time to show the footballing world what he is made of, and he has certainly caught the eye of Fabregas.

These Gooners reacted to the claim made by their ex-ace on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/AFTVMedia/status/1252275517941846017):
