# Arsenal fans take to Twitter to laud Leno after impressive clean sheet

**Whilst getting a clean sheet at home to a side in the bottom three may not sound like something to brag about, Arsenal are so weak at the back that any clean sheet is to be celebrated. However, this one will have meant more to ‘keeper Bernd Leno after his superb work to preserve it in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Southampton.**

When Unai Emery signed Bernd Leno over the summer window before the start of the season the fans were delighted that they finally had a Champions League quality goalkeeper who would be able to step up and take the reigns from the ageing and mistake-prone Petr Cech. However, it’s not until now that we’re seeing the best of Leno, and his display yesterday was superb.

It didn’t take long for the travelling side to cause the Gunners issues at the back and Leno had to make a smart stop to keep out Nathan Redmond inside the first six minutes after a smart move on the break from the away side. The Gunners would then capitalise on their German shot-stopper’s game-changing save as they went and scored up the other end, and it’s good to see the goalkeeper getting the credit for his impressive stop.

> The truth is Bernd Leno has been making crucial saves this season and deserves a lot of clean sheets… If only our defense was solid enough to support him

The Gunners will be desperate to see more of this promising form from Leno and will just hope he’s at the top of his game when they face Tottenham on Saturday.
