# Arsenal: Fans unsure over club’s attempts to reduce Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s ban

**Arsenal fans have been displaying their negativity at the club’s attempts to get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s three-game ban reduced.**

The forward was sent-off in the 1-1 draw away to Crystal Palace last weekend for a horrible challenge on Max Meyer, receiving a red card after VAR overturned the initial yellow card. It is being claimed by [Goal’s Charles Watts](https://www.goal.com/en/news/arsenal-hope-to-have-aubameyang-ban-reduced-after-crystal-palace-/gxvskg13owx21wgzkgo1yy5dw) that the north London outfit are now hoping to get a reduction because they believe ‘there are enough mitigating circumstances for a lesser punishment’.

Aubameyang has proved an influential figure for the club this campaign, having scored 43% of their goals in the Premier League [(via Football.London)](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/fixtures-results/aubameyang-martnelli-nelson-arteta-analysis-17563900). His contributions in attack have won the club a mammoth 15 of their 28 points with the club sitting in 10th place in the top-flight [(via BBC)](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table).

Fans were left feeling negative about the club’s attempt at getting a reduction with the club entering a run of three games in 10 days as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

> The FA will laugh at them & extend it. 3 games is harsh but fair. Auba could have broken his ankle.

> The FA when they check our appeal:\
> FA: So what’s the team’s name\
> Arsenal: Arsenal\
> FA: Ban is now doubled

> So let me get this straight:
>
> Arsenal saw a bunch of other fouls go unpunished that were worse than Auba’s, felt ours wasn’t forceful and slow-mo makes it seem bad, and decided that they’d appeal the length of ban instead of overturning the red like a normal club.
