Arsenal are ‘pushing hard’ to agree new deals for Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli, according to transfer expert Graeme Bailey.

The Lowdown: Off to a flying start

The Gunners have made a hugely impressive start to the new Premier League campaign, winning five of their six opening games.

The trio have all played their own individual part in Mikel Arteta’s side’s success so far, and it appears that the boss is keen to reward their hard work by securing their long-term futures.

The Latest: Arsenal working on three deals

Taking to Twitter, Bailey confirmed that Arsenal are putting in the hours behind-the-scenes to tie down the three first-team stars.

“Arsenal pushing hard to agree new deals with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba.

“Gunners hope the trio are tied down before January.”

Expanding in his column for 90min, it’s stated that talks are ‘progressing well’ with Saka, whilst negotiations with Saliba were ‘underway’ as of last month.

The source reads that Edu believes the trio of deals are ‘on the right track’ and is ‘hopeful’ that they will all agree to the fresh terms ahead of the New Year.

The Verdict: Thoroughly deserved

Martinelli, Saliba and Saka have all been integral members of Arteta’s starting XI this campaign, and being offered new contracts would be nothing less than they deserve.

The trio are all out of contract in 2024 and will have no doubt been attracting interest thanks to their recent run of form, so it’s no wonder that the director of football is keen to retain their services.

All just 21 years old, these players are the future of Arsenal and the chances of them going on to have successful careers at the Emirates look very positive.
