Arsenal have been linked to many players in the build up to the transfer window, and there is some very positive news for the club surrounding midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
According to a report by Le10sport, Kamara could be put up for sale by Ligue 1 side Marseille due to the fact that they need to raise funds of around £60 million due to their financial struggles.
Foot Mercato have suggested that Arsenal want Kamara, as Mikel Arteta aims to strengthen his defensive options, and the North London side are happy to pay around £28 million for the Frenchman.
Kamara is only 20 years-old, but his stats this campaign show that Arsenal could have a really good player on their hands if they acquire him. This season, he has featured 29 times, including in the U20 World Championships for France and has managed on averaged 2.8 tackles per game, 1.4 interceptions, and 2.1 clearances, per WhoScored. He has also picked up a goal and two assists.
For a defensive player, these stats are impressive and it looks like he will continue improving as he gets older. This, combined with the fact that he is versatile as not only can he play in midfield, but also at centre-back, highlights that he would be a really impressive signing for Arsenal, and with Granit Xhaka’s problems earlier in the season, Kamara could be an ideal replacement for the Swiss.
