There is a lot of negativity surrounding Arsenal at the moment having lost to Manchester City and Brighton last week. However there is some positive news as the club have managed to sort out a loan extension for Dani Ceballos.
Arsenal have announced that the Spanish midfielder has extended his loan from Real Madrid until the end of the current 2019/20 season.
With the football season going longer than intended due to recent events, the club would have been worried that the player would have only been available until June 30th, but thankfully now he will be at the North London side for the final eight games.
Technical director Edu spoke about how good it is to keep him at the club as he said: “We’re also pleased Dani will finish the season here. He is making a good contribution and we look forward to him having a strong finish to the season.”
With Granit Xhaka injured, Arsenal do not have a lot of squad depth in the centre of midfield, so it was crucial that the club were able to keep Ceballos at the club until the end of the season.
He brings the side good quality in both defence and attack as he has managed on average 1.7 tackles, 1.1 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.8 successful dribbles a game, per WhoScored.
Arteta will be happy to keep him until the end of the season and if the player can prove himself whilst Xhaka is unavailable, then maybe the Gunners will look to sign him on a permanent deal in the summer.
